Gone Home – Ed Gettel

Some sad news to pass along, long time TMR Ranger Ed Gettel has Gone Home.  Although he has been retired from Camp for a number of years, he was well know to staff members from the 70’s throgh the 90’s.  Ed ran the shop and was in charge of all of the camp trucks and other vehicles.  During the 1970’s you weren’t authorized to drive the manual transmission trucks until Ed gave you his approval.

Edwin F. Gettel, Jr. of Narrowsburg, NY, a lifelong resident of Sullivan County, died Saturday, October 18, 2008 at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale, PA. He was 73.

The son of the late Edwin F. and Anna Pless Gettel, Sr., he was born July 2, 1935 in Bethel, NY.
