Otetiana Council is headquartered at Rochester, NY. A bit north of TMR, but likely to be of interest to NYS Camp Collectors and Historians.

Otetiana Council Scouting Historical Society

Otetiana Council has a long and distinguished history, which is faithfully documented and preserved by the Otetiana Council Scouting Historical Society. The society meets monthly to review incoming donations and prepare new exhibits for display in the Strong Scout Shop atrium.

There is a great web site to check out with memorabilia from the 1920′s through today from this camp.  The site has a number of other links on Seattle Area Scouting which I haven’t had a chance to check out, give it a look for 80+ years of history for that camp.

This site is maintained by Doug Hunkele. He describes it this way…

This site currently contains scans of over 10000 BSA Camp Patches (Summer/Winter/Neckerchief). Although under revision, all camps are being listed in alphabetical order, Camporee/Activity/Event patches can be found under the council name; Trail patches and Medals can be found in their own area. A powerful search function will allow you to find any scan based on your search criteria. You may also download, comment and E-Mail scans.

It is situated in the Headquarters Area of the Ten Mile River Scout Reservation located in Narrowsburg, NY about 2 1/2 hours north of New York City. The Museum is typically open 6 days a week during the summer camp season (July and August) and on selected weekends during the rest of the year.
