The TMR Museum will be open throughout the day.

Here is a chance to meet up with some old friends, relieve some of your history,  and see what the camp looks like today.

I plan on being there, and will be working at the Museum.  Stop by and say hello.  Should give me a chance to get the 2009 Camp issues to.

“759: Boy Scouts of Harlem” depicts the journey of boys in Harlem’s Scout Troop 759 from the city streets to the woods at Ten Mile River Scout Reservation’s Camp Keowa.  Filmmakers Jake Boritt and Justin Szlasa realistically show the boys experience at summer camp, the quintessential American rite of passage, through recognizable experiences:  fear and ultimate conquering of swimming in the lake, adolescent voice breaking and young crushes on the Russian girls working in the dining hall, late night talks with their troopmates and leaders, and ultimately, going home.  The humor and relationships of the boys make the film come to life.

There are twill right (////) and twill left (\\\\) varieties of this patch.  A later version also exists with FDL.

The border color is reminiscent of the round jacket patch used throughout the mid and later 1960′s.

By now the number of open camps had shrunk to 5 and not all of them had full 8 week seasons, making this patch somewhat less common than the patches issued a few years earlier.

This is another of the easily available Jacket Patches even 35+ years later.  With 8 camps open on the reservation for an 8 week season there are quite a few of these around.
