The staff patch is still a need of mine.

As far as I know, this is the only time there was both a patch and a neckerchief issued by a TMR camp staff. Of course there are issues when a patch was issued and has been seen both on and off a neckerchief; but I am unaware of any other separate Camp Staff patch and neckerchief issue.

These issues have been seen with dates from at least the mid-1950′s to the mid 1960′s. This particular patch was listed in the 1st Edition of A Guide to Memorabilia of the Ten Mile River Scout Camps as belonging to Headquarters Staff.

The information on this patch is anecdotal, and we have never been able to confirm its authenticity with a member of Headquarters Staff.

Can anyone confirm its use in either this year or any other year?

In 1960 there was Green and Blue Tartan, in 1961 the same patch was used but the Tartan was changed to Gray and Green. Each patch shows a map of TMR broken down into the three sections (Delaware, Crystal and Schiff). Each Division had its own Headquarters in addition to the reservation-wide Headquarters which is still in use today.  The color of the lettering of the Section and Camp name is coded to the color of the Section in the map.

The location of the individual camp is denoted by a red star.

Camp Man was the Camp for Queens Council and was located on Crytsal Lake.  Modern Camp Kernochan uses much of the land of what was Camp Man.
