Before Ten Mile River was established in 1928, NYC Scouts camped at one of the various camps at Kanohwahkee Lakes in what today is part of Bear Mountain State Parks.\u00c2\u00a0 One of the Queens Camps was Camp Matinecock<\/a>\"\".\u00c2\u00a0 An auction recently ended on eBay with two Camp Matinecock patches from circa 1920.\u00c2\u00a0 What would probably have been the most interesting artifact, a booklet entitled “My Summer at Camp Matinecock”\u00c2\u00a0 Unfortunately, it went for more than I was able to spend right now.<\/p>\n
