Jeff Rocklein sent me a scan of an undated Camp Aquehonga patch shown below.  He wanted to know when it was issued.
My records indicate that is from 2000, which on my checklist would be:

Thanks to the keen eyes of Ray Gould, I was able to pick up a TMR Staff neckerchief need recently at the Empire State TOR.
Below is the 1956 Camp Rondack staff neckerchief.
While it is on a neckerchief, I’m not sure if this is the original tartan for this camp.  Can anyone confirm this?
Always good to [...]

Camp Aquehonga 2006 Varieties

I always thought that there was a single patch issued by camp Aquehonga in 2006.  Jeff Rocklein proved me wrong when he sent scans of three separate issues to me earlier this year.
We met up at TMR on Alumni Day and I saw the patches in question.
The first was a dated version which was the [...]

1961 Chappegat Staff Neckerchief

by @ Tuesday, June 9th, 2009. Filed under Camp Chappegat, Ten Mile River pre-1965

After the era of individual Camp Staff neckerchiefs, there were several years where uniform staff neckerchiefs were worn throughout the reservation.
In 1960 there was Green and Blue Tartan, in 1961 the same patch was used bit the Tartan was Gray and Green. The patches show a map of TMR broken down into the three section [...]

759: Boy Scouts of Harlem

by @ Tuesday, March 17th, 2009. Filed under Camp Keowa, Ten Mile River - Modern

From the GNYC Website:
“759: Boy Scouts of Harlem” depicts the journey of boys in Harlem’s Scout Troop 759 from the city streets to the woods at Ten Mile River Scout Reservation’s Camp Keowa.  Filmmakers Jake Boritt and Justin Szlasa realistically show the boys experience at summer camp, the quintessential American rite of passage, through recognizable experiences:  fear [...]

Camp Hayden – Polar Bear Club

by @ Sunday, November 16th, 2008. Filed under Camp Hayden, TMR - Individual Camps

While I’m posting on Camp Hayden I have another undated Camp Hayden Patch which I had never seen before.  It is in pretty rough shape, apparently having been glued sometime in the past.  The patch should have a white twill background.
It is a 3″ round with the test Camp Hayden Polar Bear Club.
Can anyone confirm [...]

Camp Hayden – 1976

by @ Thursday, November 13th, 2008. Filed under Camp Hayden

I had previously posted on Camp Hayden and what I believed to be its first patch.  Either that patch is from a later year (which seems more likely), or there were multiple patches issued.
Camp Hayden was last run by GNYC in 1974.  My 30+ year old memory was that it was closed in 1975 and [...]
