Here is another video from the Ten Mile River Scout Museum, this one on the history of Camp Man 1930-1938. Camp Man was the Camp for Queens Council and was located on Crytsal Lake.  Modern Camp Kernochan uses much of the land of what was Camp Man.

While I’m posting on Camp Hayden I have another undated Camp Hayden Patch which I had never seen before.  It is in pretty rough shape, apparently having been glued sometime in the past.  The patch should have a white twill background.

It is a 3″ round with the test Camp Hayden Polar Bear Club.

Can anyone confirm its years of use, provide a scan of a clean patch and maybe a trade?

I had previously posted on Camp Hayden and what I believed to be its first patch.  Either that patch is from a later year (which seems more likely), or there were multiple patches issued.

Camp Hayden was last run by GNYC in 1974.  My 30+ year old memory was that it was closed in 1975 and reopened in 1976

During this time period (mid-1970’s to the early 1980’s) Camp Hayden was leased to Rockland County Council.  Pictured below is a dated patch from 1976.

I recently acquired a leather TMR neckerchief slide from 1974, Siesta Merit Badge.  While I was on staff in Family Camp that year I don’t have a specific memory of the issue.  I’ve seen these over the years, but only recently picked one up.

I understand it was an official issue and used at least in Camp Kunatah.  Can anyone provide details on the requirements or how it was earned?  My assumption is it would be for that period after lunch, circa 1:00 PM until program areas reopened at 2:00 PM.
